transformations

type: wall study
location: theoretical
This short project was a study in transformations of design ideas from an assigned historic wall. I was challenged to expand on design concepts of a wall which is from St. Petri Chuch in Klippan, Sweden. The architect Sigurd Lewerentz designed this wall with specific intentions: the windows were solely for light, not views, and the bricks were not allowed to be cut as a symbol of the church community but which led to interesting variations in mortar joint sizes. I took these ideas and transformed them into three new wall designs.
