pedestrian bridge

spring 2015

type: pedestrian bridge

location: Muncie, IN

As a final project for the first year program, a group urban design project took place in downtown Muncie, IN. The design called for a more pedestrian and bike friendly neighborhood that connected downtown with the Ball State campus. Each team member took a block or section of the site.

I took the north-most section next to the river and designed a pedestrian bridge and park which also includes a restaurant, green tunnel, and glass-bottom walkway. The half-mile bridge connects two parks, and its curvilinear form mimics the round design of them as well as the flow of the river.
